PATIENT ASSISTING
DEVICE
ABSTRACT
The health and wellness sector is critical to human society and as such should be one of the first
to receive the benefits of upcoming technologies like IoT.
Some of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) are connected to IoT networks to onitor the
day-to-day activities of the patients. Recently there has been attempts to design new medical
devices which monitor nthe medications and help aged people for a better assisted living.
In this paper, one such attempt is made to design a multipurpose portable intelligent device
named MEDIBOX which helps the patients take their medications at the right time.
This box is a proficient system which maintains the parameters like temperature and humidity
in a controlled range recommended by the drug manufacturer and thus maintains the potency of
the medicines even if the patient is travelling.
EXISTING SYSTEM
Disadvantage :
Care taker should need.
Forgetting to take a tablet at fixed time.
No alert system for unavailable of medicines.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
Advantage:
No care taker needed.
Alert the patient to take a medicine on time.
We can see status whether the patient taken the tablets or not.
it can remind unavailability of medicines.

In our system, three ultrasonic sensors are used to indicate the level of medicine in Medi-box.
A Yellow led, Green LED and Red Led are connected respectively to indicate the levels in light
vision when the level of medicine is crossed below ultrasonic sensor one it will trigger the
yellow LED and automatically a status will be uploaded to the IOT, the level of medicine is
crossed below ultrasonic sensor two it will trigger the green LED again a status will be
uploaded to IOT and also a generate a alert SMS using GSM Module to the patient or care taker.
when it reaches the ultrasonic sensor three. Triggers the Red LED, a call to a care taker or
patient and a statement to the IOT that the box almost empty.
IR sensor is used to detect the no of times the box opened and medicine taken at the same time
status will be uploaded to the IOT with date and time. Finally a SOS system is implemented to
remind the patient to take their medicine on time.

POWER SUPPLY
• The operation of power supply circuits built using filters, rectifiers, and then voltage
regulators.
• The regulation is usually obtained from an IC voltage regulator Unit, which takes a
DC voltage and provides a somewhat lower DC voltage, Which remains the same
even if the input DC voltage varies, or the output Load connected to the DC voltage
changes.
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY (LCD)
Most common LCDs connected to the microcontrollers are 16x2 and 20x2
displays.
This means 16 characters per line by 2 lines and 20 characters per line by 2
lines, respectively.
The main purpose of this project is to measure the distance to unreachable objects,
obstacles or places using a portable device.
This device detects the distance to an object and shows the result in centimeters.
This device is activated by a trigger mechanism, pressing the trigger for one time will
give us the distance to an object if there was no error like poor aiming. The distance to an
object is displayed using a digital display with a high intensity in order to be seen in any
lighting conditions
