RATIONALE

It has been the adamant policy of the
State particularly stipulated in Section 1 of
Article XIV which states that “The State shall
protect and promote the right of all citizens
to quality education at all levels, and shall
take appropriate steps to make such
education accessible to all.” Apparently, this
principle is oftentimes purported by our
beloved Secretary of Education Leonor M.
Briones as she accentuated in her latest
pronouncement that the DepEd workforce is
committed to our duty of making education
available and thriving even in the most
difficult time. Likewise, our agency is
steadfast on its stance of propping up the
multifarious actions of the Philippine
government in reinvigorating the nation as it
boldly display its commitment of achieving
the Department’s goal of providing
accessible, quality, liberating, and safe basic
education services in the midst of this
CoViD-19 contagion. This is how the
department projects its vital &
complementary role of defence against the
ill-effects of this current pandemic in the
lives of our young generation.
Moreover, DepEd’s fresh vision of
the Sulong Edukalidad course of
action is for the educators to rally
forward cohesively as the education
system is being overhauled to keep
abreast with the so-called “new
normal.” In this trying time of our
history, it is but best and fitting to
champion the very nature of Filipino
solidarity as depicted in the
“Bayanihan Spirit.” DepEd Laws,
policies and the like must ensure that
the health, safety and well-being of
learners, parents, teachers and other
stakeholders are being taken into
optimum consideration. In the context
of new normal, courses of action must
be donned with empathy,
nationalism, and flexibility so it won’t
encumber the teaching and learning
process but rather become a beacon
of optimism to all the people involved
thus the same shall become a conduit
in making sure that education will
continue to gush forth in the fabric of
society amidst this pandemic.
Finally, as a learning institution,
Sulu-an Integrated School (SIS) is
committed to uphold the mandate of
the Department of Education (DepEd)
in ensuring the delivery of quality and
sterling basic education in the context
of this new normal without
compromising the standards set forth
to put in place a conducive teaching
and learning environment. Our full
cognizance with the nature of people
and learners will be of great help in
designing programs, projects and
activities that would absolutely
address the educational needs and
personal aspirations of our clientele
vis-à-vis their current plight amid this
critical era. In this precarious vision of
the future of our learners,
conscientious and thorough planning
is a necessity. Thus, this School
Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) has to
be prudently fashioned to effectively
and efficiently address the needs of
our learners, parents, teachers and
other educational stakeholders.
