I. Basic requirements
1. center the camera, and only show your pure and clean background.
It’s better to put your camera on the top of the computer, in this way, it looks like you are always
looking at the screen and making eye contact with your students. And do some make up if
possible, first impression is very important
2. Make your light bright enough(If not, do put a desklamp on your
desktop. Darkness may lead to complaint from students and QA)
◦ You can also decorate your own background with stickers and toys to make it more colorful and
attractive for kids, most of the students here are kids

◦ 3. Check the device at the beginning of every class: sound and microphone, internet and CPU of
computer;
◦ Uncheck MIRROR MODE in classin, so the word will show in right direction in student’s side

Check the greenbar. When you are speaking, it moves

up and down. When it reaches to almost half of the
video, the sound is the best for your student. Not to
harsh and small. You can turn up the volume to
about 100 in classin setting.
you can choose “classroom window mode”in setting of classin, so it will
only record your classroom in classin. And do not drag other pages to
cover classin screen or everything you do within classroom will be
recorded. Students can see that in class recording. Be more professional.
◦ 4. Draw the webcams down to the blackboard always and put the webcams and material like below: (Left
or right, as you like)
◦ Don’t make the webcams too big(1/3 part of the whole blackboard) or too small, just make sure the
student can see you and the material clearly. Save enough space for the material.
◦ 5. Do not leave a short remark . Your student may check your remark after classes. So it shows your
attitude toward teaching. All remarks need to be longer than 3 sentences, or QA may give you
complaints.
◦ If you have several classes and don't have enough time to leave remarks, you can make a detailed remark
template and only change a few words every time. Or you can go back to the remark after finish all the
classes within 24 hours.
◦ Eg.
◦ 6. Do not be late (even 1 second)and don’t leave the classroom early (Pls wait until “ delayed ” showing
there ), do make a full 25 mins class for students. Pls enter the classroom 1-3 mins early to prepare for
your classes
6. Do not speak fast , repeat 3 times for starters.
7. do not get a noisy background . No dog barking, cock crowing or other noises which may lead to complaints.
8.Do not play the videos for more than 2minutes in a class, this will also lead to complaints from QA

10.For any emergencies, take a valid screenshot first as proof and CS is your best friend always when I am off duty. You
can also seek help from other TM who is on duty that day.

1. Be active and patient enough , watching some good videos of top tutors to learn. Never stop learning in

◦ I am sure you can find more methods to learn basic Chinese. Speaking some Chinese can help you get closer
to students and guide young learners to follow your instructions. But do not rely too much on Chinese, after
all, it’s an English class. Chinese is only needed for zero-basis students in English. Here are some Chinese
that often used in class.

◦ 4. buy some props and toys and cards or make it by yourself. Female tutors can buy some cute
headwears. That makes you more amiable for students.
◦ 5. Interesting introduction and warm welcome with students, you can prepare your own warm-up
and ending lines or PPT for adults and kids respectively:

interaction with the student.

◦ 8. Use manycam and body language to teach(TPR methods). Downloading link :
www.filehippo.com (if it effects your computer , then don’t need to install it ) If you want
manycam instructions, pls ask me in skype. You can also search in Youtube.
◦ 9. Type more on the blackboard or material to do the explanation thoroughly. And extend more
relative words and pictures for students. Play some short English songs for young kids. Pls save
some songs in your cloudisk of classin, you can find more in Youtube. Don’t just cover the content in
material, extend some grammar or extra knowledge for student. So they will not feel your class is boring.
Use phonetic symbol sometimes to correct the pronounciation timely.

◦ 10. Try to guide the student to answer the questions in a full and complete sentence.You can paste
this sentence on the blackboard for adult students:

◦ Pls always try to answer my questions in a complete sentence. 请尝试用完整句子回答问题

◦ Whenever they make mistakes, pls correct them right away by typing it down no matter in
grammar or pronunciation. So students can learn more and faster in your English class.
◦ 11. Play some short English songs for young kids if they can’t focus on your class.(like “baby
shark”,”hello song” as an welcome song.) Move and sing along with the music together with the
students. But don’t play videos for over 2 mins, which will also lead to complaints.
◦ Pls save some English songs in your cloudisk of classin, better not to use share screen button, it takes up
some CPU of your computer and make classin slow. If you want to play songs for students, pls
download some songs for kids from Youtube and save them in your cloudisk of classin. So it can be
played smoothly.
◦ 12.If the student has no basis in English, you can use google translator and paste both of the
Chinese and English sentences on the blackboard. Or guide him to type Chinese in chatbox(“You can
type Chinese in the chatbox= 你可以在聊天框中输入中文”） , then you can translate it in English.
But you still need to tell them how to express it in English so that they can answer it by themselves next
time.

 III. How to solve some problems you have 
◦ 1. About remark opening:
◦ If you have missing remarks bec of system error, to save time , pls send me in the following format:

◦ TM please open remarks for

◦ Score: (only needed when it's a lesson for Achievement test)

◦ just to make sure you can check your class table at each end of week , to check whether there is any class in an unnormal
situation ,such as didn't leave remark successfully etc ,pls finish remarks within 24 hours and before the cut off , after the cut
off to reopen , that is invalid salary. And TM don’t have the right to open remarks over 72 hours and they will not be included
in your salary . Make sure they are sent right after class time, otherwise, your DS reserves the right not to reopen your class
remarks.
◦ 2. about Schedule giving :
◦ Pls give me the schedule for next week on each Mon or Tue, I am off duty on each Sundays and Mondays , so when I get
back , that is Tuesday. For the late schedule , I will cut down some slots according to the following rules , also reconsider it
according to your performance last week . The earlier you give to me, the more students may book your class.

◦ Pls always send me your schedule for next week every Monday or Tuesday! The deadline is 6pm on Tuesday. The earlier you
update, more classes will be booked. If you give it to me later than that time, your schedule for next week will have to be decreased
following the rules below:

◦ --If you give me on Wed, your class for next week will start on Tues(NO Monday class)

◦ --If you give me on Thursday, your class for next week will start on Wed(NO Monday and Tuesday class).....

◦ --If you give me on Sunday, No class will be plotted for your next week!
◦ The later you give it to me, the less class you can get.

◦ 3 Two continuous classes with one student ?

◦ if you have 2 classes with one student , please inform student to leave the classroom with you
when the 1st class is over , and enter the second classroom from next class detail the same to
you . if you can't see the student when you enter the second classroom ,please call CS to
inform student .
◦ 4. How to leave the remark very well in short 5 mins break :
◦ 5.When system crashed , what you can do

Enter the classroom first using your classin/A-classroom account and password, you can find the
material inside. If not, pls contact with CS when I am off duty. And save a valid screenshot as proof
with local time on your desktop of computer.
