 A newscast is called a television or
radio program that is characterized by
the presentation of current news.

The newscast is usually present at times
close to the times when people are ready
to eat at the table, either during lunch or
dinner, in order to capture the highest
possible audience levels.

The newscasts are usually broadcast

periodically, that is, from Monday to
Friday, with some exceptions where they
are broadcast weekly.

The Colombian Newscasts are made up of three basic parts, the
serious ones, the sports ones and the show business.

Just before starting the whole newscast there is a small

introduction of the news that will be seen, these are called
HEADLINES.

THE SERIOUS
NEWS
Includes economic, political, judicial, public order, etc.

This category gives regional and international information.

There are two ways of presenting this news, the first is more
relevant during the morning and noon broadcasts, the second
generally spreads the news through provided notes or images.

THE SPORTS
NEWS
This section deals with sports topics such as soccer, motor
racing, tennis, baseball, basketball, etc.

On weekends this part of the newscast is enlarged a couple of

minutes, which can happen for different reasons.

ENTERTAINME
NT WORLD
This section will be devoted to singers of the moment, soap
operas and programs (especially reality shows), news from
places like Miami, Hollywood etc.

and fashion events.

 CRITERIA

Actuality: Recent and original event.

Striking: the more strange and unusual the news, the more attention will be drawn.

Conflict: An event that causes disagreements, opinions, arguments, decisions,

difficulties, etc. between individuals, groups, or the entire community whose
consequences affect in some way.
 SCRIPT – HOW TO ELABORate
INFORMATIVE SCRIPT?

FIRST
The script is a very important text because it
contains the content of the entire newscast.
The interventions of each of the participants
must be specified, whether they are
journalists, interviewees, announcers,
witnesses, etc.
SECOND
It should also contain everything that will be
said in the newsletter and in each section or
block. It is essential that the script is very
precise, since it depends on it that the
newscast has a clear, organized, and not
boring organization.
