• According to the data given by Thomson Reuters, the total value of Mergers and
Acquisitions involving Indian Companies increased from $67.4 billion in 2007 to
$129.4 billion in 2018
• Average M&A deal size increased from $82.8 million in 2017 to $127.8 million in 2018
• There were 5 acquisitions that took place in 2018 which have a value of more than $5
billion whereas there was only one such deal in the year 2017
• Domestic deals of M&A totaled to $26.6 billion in 2017 but the numbers rose by 17%
to $ 57.3 billion in 2018
• Inbound M&A deals totaled to $31.5 billion in 2017 but the numbers rose by 77% to
$55.8 billion in 2018
• Outbound M&A deals totaled $13.4 billion in 2018 which was five times greater than
the outbound M&A deals in 2017
