Hydrostatic Motor and Circuit

Variable Motor
Displacement.
Hydraulic oil is sent from the
pump and flows into the inlet
port of the HST motor.
Appling hydraulic pressure on
the pistons it will rotate the
out-put shaft.
When the pump changes the oil
flow the motor receives the oil
in the opposite side of the
ports and rotates the output
shaft in the opposite direction
Auxiliary Components:
1. Servo valve.
2. Electrical Solenoid.
3. Flushing valve.

HST Motor Diagram.

This motor has three major
components :
1. The variable
displacement motor.
2. The servo valve and
solenoids.
3. Shuttle and flushing
valve.

Servo Valve.
The servo valve is installed to the
rear of the HST motor and is used
to change the motor displacement
according to the current given to
the solenoid.

Shuttle and Flushing Valve.
The Flushing Valve and Shuttle Valve work together to complete the circuit.
The shuttle valve connects the low pressure section of the Closed Loop to the
flushing valve.
The flushing valve is a set relief valve that releases low pressure oil out of the
circuit to ensure adequate cool and filtered oil is replenished by the charge pump.

Oil Cooler
The oil cooler will dissipate the
excess heat during heavy
operation.
In most cases the coolers will be oil
to air types, similar to engine
radiator.
Because of the high pressure within
the Closed Loop system the cool is
connected into the low pressure
circuit, normally oil return line back
to the reservoir.

Filter and Strainer.

Filters and strainers are important for all high
performance systems. The filtering system is installed
into the charge pump supply oil, so clean oil is supplied
into the closed loop.
