ANGLES
What is complementary angles?
■ Complementary angles are angles that add up to 90 degrees.
■ Complementary angles are angles that has the sum of 90 degrees.

What is supplementary angles?

■ Supplementary angles are angles that add up to 180 degrees.
■ Supplementary angles are angles that has the sum of 180 degrees.
■ Supplementary angles are angles whose measure is 180 degrees. And each angles is
supplement of the other.

■ Area of Rectangle: to find the area of rectangle we must follow some steps:
*identify the base
*identify the height
*multiply the base times the height to find the are of rectangle.
A=bh (formula for rectangle)
Example:
  Solution:
1.) find the area of rectangle.
A=bh
A=4mi x 2mi
2mi A=8

4mi
■ AREA OF PARALLELOGRAM : parallelogram is easily changed to a rectangle by separating a
triangle from one end of the parallelogram and moving it to the other end.
■ To find the area of parallelogram, multiply the base times the height as you did with the rectangle.

A=bh

1. Find the area of parallelogram

Solution:
A=bh
A=18inches x 9inches
9inches
A=
18inches
■ Area of triangle: area of triangle is equal to one-half of the area of a parallelogram.
■ To find the area of triangle you must follow these following:
– Identify the base
– Identify the height
– Multiply the base times the height
– Divide the product of the base times the height by 2.

A= ½ bh
Example:
1. Find the area of triangle. Solution:

A= ½ bh
6cm A= ½ (6cm x 8cm)
A=24 cm
8cm
■ Area of trapezoid: it is another shape that can be transformed into a parallelogram.
■ To find the area of trapezoid, multiply the base times the height and then take half of the total area.
Remember to add the lengths of the base and the top of the trapezoid before multiplying by the height.

A= ½ (b+t)h

Example:
Solution:
1. Find the area of trapezoid
A= ½ (b+t)h
2ft
A= ½ (5ft. + 2ft.)4ft.
4ft A= ½ (7ft.)4ft
A=

■ Area
  of circle: in order to find the area of circle, we need to identify the radius. Radius is half of the
diameter.
■ To find the area of circle we have this formula:

A=p

1. Find the area of circle with the following diameter or radius lengths.

Solution:

r=6 A= (3.14)
A= (3.14)
