Holy Spirit
Lesson 2:
Filled with the
Holy Spirit
INTRODUCTION
• Pentecost is the festival when Christians celebrate the gift
of the Holy Spirit. It is celebrated on the Sunday 50 days
after Easter. Pentecost is regarded as the birthday of the
Christian church, and the start of the church's mission to
the world. Pentecost is the celebration of the person of
the Holy Spirit coming upon the Apostles, Mary, and the
first followers of Jesus, who were gathered together in
the Upper Room. A “strong, driving” wind filled the
room where they were gathered, and tongues of fire
came to rest on their heads, allowing them to speak in
different languages so that they could understand each
other.
OBJECTIVES:
⮚ To name the apostles who were present during the Pentecost,

⮚ To appreciate the significance of forty days through drawing, and,

⮚ To compose a message about Jesus.

Scriptural Text:
“They all joined together
constantly in prayer, along
with the women and Mary
the mother of Jesus, and with
his brothers.”
- Acts 1:14

Lesson 2: Filled with the Holy Spirit

• Before the apostles were able

to speak in the public about
their faith in the risen Jesus,
they needed enough strength
to enable them to do so.
After Jesus’ death on the cross, He presented Himself
alive to the apostles by many convincing proofs,
appearing to them for forty days and speaking about the
Kingdom of God. He informed them that they would be
baptized by the Holy Spirit in the coming of the days.
