AMDEC 2020 Action
Plan and Budget
MANDATE
Assist National Organizations’s leaders to acquire
tools and skills necessary for effective
management of their National Organizations, and
help JCI realize its Mission and extend its
values and principles to new countries in Africa
and the Middle East. Work to make JCI the
organization that unites all the sectors of
society.
AMDEC MISSION
To provide development opportunities that
empower young people to create positive
change

 Citizen engagement
 Support National / Local organizations to
connect to their communities.
OBJECTIVES
• Identify areas where the JCI movement can be
furthered and or introduced
• Co-ordinate inter National Organizations activities
to achieve specific targets (growth & development)
• Assist National Organizations in training and
development
• Exchange information, skills and experience
between National Organizations in the Area.
• Identify and implement projects to further the
organization in the Area
• Assist JCI Africa and Middle East Board of Directors
whenever required.

• Organise the National Presidents Meeting
• Organise the Active Citizenship Academy
• Establish and strengthen National Organizations
• Coordinate the affiliation processes for the national
organizations
• Promote and Implement advocacy campaigns
• Work in close collaboration with Board Members and
Regional Office to Impact as One.

Organization.
3. Enhance partnerships to Sponsor AMDEC Programs

IMPACT – Support Organizational Impact
• Actions Steps:
1. Use the existing network of facilitators to support National
and local organizations through the ACF process.
2. Grow and expand the organization by capitalizing on potential
Leads, leads and supporting potential and provisional
organizations in their sustainability efforts.
3. Establish a support mechanism for National and Local
organizations with difficulties
4. Devise relevant activities for National Organizations based on
end of survey conducted in 2019.
5. Develop a three-year strategic plan for AMDEC
6. Organize an impactful activity to create awarness of JCI before
the creation of potential national organization

MOTIVATE 1/2 – Educate and
engage JCI Area Leaders

• Action Steps:
1. Promote the Journey of the Active Citizen to inspire young people to
become active citizens.
2. Organize the National Presidents Meeting
3. Organize the 22nd Edition of the JCI Active Citizenship Academy
4. Promote AMDEC activities sharing ‘‘AMDEC News’’
5. Conduct a handover session and a training for the newly-elected AMDEC
team during the World Congress
6. Celebrate AMDEC 35th anniversary.
7. Support national organization in creation of a new National Organization
MOTIVATE 2/2 – Educate and engage JCI Area Leaders

• Expected Results:
1. Empower struggling national and local organizations
2. Empower JCI Events National Organizing Committees
3. Expand on our impact by engagement as many citizens as
possible within the Area.
INVEST – Improve in its financial
sustainability
• Actions:
1. Ensure the effective payment and collection of AMDEC Dues
from affiliated National Organizations.
2. Seek alternative means of funding for AMDEC
3. Establish a sustainability mechanism.
4. Efficient management of the JCI Foundation approved
grants.
5. Review AMDEC constitution and propose a new structure for
the African and Middle East Development Council
6. Organize a brainstorming workshop session on AMDEC
funding sources at NPM.
7. Work in collaboration of the partnership committee to find
alternative sources of funding.

Significant increase in AMDEC financial resources.

• Actions:

10. Make a plea to AMESA to request annual financial support for
AMDEC

COLLABORATE – Establish and
support regional partnerships
• Action Steps:
1. Establish working relationships with key organizations
– African Union (AU),
– ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States),
– ECCAS (Economic Community of Central African States),
– SADC (South African Development Council),
– United Nations Programs,
– Arab League.

2. Work with National organizations to implement winning partnerships within their


respective organizations
3. Establish close collaboration between AMDEC Councilors and Vice Presidents to
assist in monitoring and implementation of Area’s activities
COLLABORATE – Establish and support regional partnerships
• Action Steps:
4. Initiate collaborative activities with other organizations, partners, institutions
and foundations to amplify networking and create more promotion framework.
5. Encourage National Organizations to share good practices in term of
growth.

Key partnerships on a regional, national and local level
CONNECT – Educate, engage and
inspire members and young people
• Action Steps:
1. Build on the successes of advocacy
campaigns
2. Work in collaboration with regional office and BOD to
establish sub-regional events that would provide a
platform where young people and members can
continue to create strong connections
3. Encourage active twinning activities within the region.

• Expected Result:
More opportunities and secure partners to advocate,
engage and connect.
