 Occupy 8 HWs in BS1 interface, which is divided into two su

b-groups and each sub-group contains 4 HWs. As to two HW
sub-group,their BS1 interface timeslot distribution relations
are completely the same
 Provide 4 E1 output ports for A-bis interface,which is from p
ort0 to port3. As to the four output ports of this BIE active/st
andby group, their timeslot distributions are the same.
 The first sub-group HW map to port 0 and port 1,the second
sub-group HW map to port 2 and port3
 Every port can support 6 TRXs at most

 Mapping Relation of Voice Channel

 Voice channel mapping from BS1 interface timeslot 0~47 to
Port 0 (As what P0 is shown in the table)
 Voice channel mapping from BS1 interface timeslot 48~95 to
Port 1 (As what P1 is shown in the table)
 The voice timeslot mapping relation of the second HW
sub-group is the same with that of the first sub-group
except that the output port should be changed to Port 2
and Port 3
 The logic mapping relation of voice channel is completely
fixed. It cannot be changed through data configuration.
19
Common Star Logic

 Mapping Relation of RSL Signaling Channel

 timeslot 96 to 107 are 12 RSL channels. Usually, timeslot
96~101 are mapped to RSL in Port 0, timeslot 102~107 are
mapped to RSL in Port 1
 The above mentioned RSL mapping relations can be
changed via BSC data configuration. For instance, if Port
0 only has 3 TRX, RSL in Port 1 can also start from
timeslot 99 in BS1 interface
 RSL mapping relation in the second HW sub-group is the
same with that of the first sub-group except that the
output port should be changed to Port 2 and Port 3
20
Common Star Logic

 Logic Mapping Relation of OML Signaling Channel

 timeslot 127 of BS1 interface mapping to TS 31 of Port 0
 timeslot 125 of BS1 interface mapping to TS 31 of Port 1
 The above mentioned OML mapping relations are
completed fixed and cannot be changed through BSC data
configuration
 OML mapping relation of the second HW sub-group is the
same with that of the first sub-group except that the
output port should be changed to Port 2 and Port 3

 Mapping relation of voice channel

 TCH voice channels are distributed to timeslot 0~95 and tim
eslot 112~127. In fact, because A-bis interface capacity is li
mited, timeslot 124~127 are generally idle
 In the case of 15:1, A-bis interface TCHs are distributed in
sequence without any fixed correlation with TRX number
 Because of A-bis interface transmission restriction, for o
ne BIE port, the maximum number of TCH channel is 108

33
Chain Logic(without cascade)

 Mapping relation of RSL and OML Signaling link

 RSL 0~14 and OML are distributed to timeslot 108~111
 4 LAPD links are multiplexed into 1 timeslot, that is so-
called 64K statistical multiplexing.

BTS Base Station Interface Unit

 Functions of BTS Base Station Interface Unit

 To communicate with BSC BIE board or base station interface
board of the upper level BTS and to receive the incoming relay
signal coming from BSC BIE board or the upper level BTS
 In the case of base station cascade, to switch the designated
timeslot from the incoming trunk port to the outgoing trunk
port and transmit it to the lower level base station;
 To provide OML maintenance link for the OMU unit in this base
station
 To provide RSL maintenance link for the TRX board in this
base station

45
BTS Interface Unit Working Mode

 Single Chain Cascade

 the incoming trunk port must be port 0
 outgoing trunk port can be any one of ports 1-3
 which is the specific port depends on the actual BSC data
configuration

46
BTS Interface Unit Working Mode

 Tree Cascade
 upper level base station provide multiple outgoing trunk
ports for the lower level base station
 real case depend on the actual BSC data configuration

47
BTS Interface Unit Working Mode

 Double Chain Cascade

 using two trunks to cascade multiple base station
 use port0 and port1 as its incoming port
 use port2 and port3 as its outgoing port
 OML link must fix the timeslot 31 input from port 0
