BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

This course is an architectural allied course which aims

to educate students regarding the basic issues and
laws regarding to housing in the Philippines. It focuses
on the socio-cultural and institutional challenges for
effective delivery of housing in the country.

To be familiar with the cultural beliefs and regional characteristics of housing in

the Philippines

Week 4 The Housing Situation in the Philippines – Need,

Demand, and Supply
To be educated with the current housing situation in the Philippines

To examine the economic and social challenges of housing and criticize the behavioural
and economic aspects of housing.

Week 6 Key Shelter Agencies and Laws on Housing

To acquaint the students to the policies of Philippine Housing and the concerned
agencies
Week 7 Homeownership and Housing Satisfaction - Theories
Understand the relationship between homeownership and housing satisfaction and
get a background about the ten theories on housing satisfaction

(Housing Technology)
Understand mass housing and its definition, acquire the knowledge regarding the new
construction technologies used in mass housing, and discover examples of each
housing technology

• ATTENDANCE
• Checking of attendance will be done before the class proper
begins and after the class
– ABSENCES
• If you cannot make it to class, please notify me at least a day
before
• You are excused if the reason is valid (sickness, family
emergency, poor to no network connection, area blackouts)
– LATE
• You may still join the class if you are 15-30 minutes late. Later
than that, you will be marked absent
