Jesus, the Bread of Life

John 6:25-58
“I Am the Bread of Life”
1. “Bread” means that Jesus is the
provision God has given to impart
eternal life to men

“I Am the living bread that came down


from heaven. If anyone eats this bread,
He will live forever.” Jn 6:51
Jesus is the provision of God:
• The real gift from heaven is a Savior who
has come to provide for our spiritual needs

2. “Bread” means that Jesus is the
only one who satisfies my deepest
inner needs

“I Am the bread of life. He who comes to


me will never go hungry, and he who
believes in me will never be thirsty.”
Jn 6:35

3. “Bread” means that Jesus is the
only one whose flesh was broken
and offered for me

“This bread is my flesh which I give for


the life of the world.”

4. “Bread” means that I must receive
Jesus

“I tell you the truth, unless you eat the


flesh of the Son of Man and drink his
blood, you have no life in you. Whoever
eats my flesh and drinks my blood has
eternal life, and I will raise him up on the
last day. Jn 6:53-54

• Means to reflect upon the meaning of the
incarnation and the cross

to draw you to Himself . . .

“No one can come to me unless the


Father who sent me draws him.” Jn 6:44
