Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd. (BBLIL) merged with HLL, with effect from January 1, 1996.

1988: merger with Pond͛s India Ltd.

Reason: the two companies had significant overlaps in Personal Products, Speciality
Chemicals and Exports businesses, besides a common distribution system since 1993 for
Personal Products.
