and non tolerance to GBV. What is most


important for me is to be patriotic and
achieve equitable male and female
responsibilities while enhancing full
attainment of their potentials according
to the abilities God has given them and
NOT THE PAY.

POPULARISE GENDER AND GBV
ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES IN THE
WORKPLACE?
• I ensure that the Local Authority has a
Gender Focal Point Person whose main

mandate is to plan , coordinate,


organize and implement Gender In
Development Sub Committee of the
DDCC in each Civic calendar year and
influence the Council to allocate up to
30% of the budget on best gender
practices.

WHAT RESULTS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED?

CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE LEADER?
• At least 30% of plot allocations are
awarded to women which is an
LEADERSHIP

improvement from 10% in the past.


Management structure has women in
decision making positions at 25% from
12% in the recent past. Through funds
set apart by the LA such as CDF many
women and youths clubs have
established IGAs .

• My passion and dedication as a
leader championing Gender and
LEADERSHIP

GBV is seen in the long years of un


interrupted service as a voluntary
Councilor from 1998 and changing
position of leadership from
Committee Chairperson of the PWD
committee and Council Chairman
twice in each position.
