 It is a professional image editting software with an
endless selection of drawing tools, filters, and color-
adjustment capabilities for manipulating items in almost
any way.
 Originally designed for bitmap images, Photoshop lets
you create eye-catching typography by placing text on
paths or within shapes, perform shadow and highlight
correction, explore expanded color-matching features,
parlay efficient layer comps, and preview, search, and
share images.
 It is the premiere program for managing home digital
printing.

 Enhanced masking feature:
• layer mask is used to show or hide some part of a layer.
• Layer Mask Density option allows you to fade away the
effect of a layer mask gradually revealing the parts that
are hidden.
• Masks on multiple layers can be used to hide parts of
image components and hence this technique can be used
to make an image collage.
• The opacity of mask can be altered and edges of mask
can be feathered.

 Content Aware Resizing allows you to transform an
image not by bending pixels, but removing pixel of
areas of information that is not important.
 It is an highly automated feature.

 It is capable of scaling just the low detail information

inside an image while keeping the actual real
identifyiable objects intact.

ENHANCED QUICK SELECTION TOOL
 This tool works by allowing you to slowly brush over the
image, analysing the colour and contrast values as you
move the cursor.
 This tool has a parametre for controlling the degree to
which thinngs are selected i.e. Size and hardness of
brush you are using.

ONE BOLD MOVE 3D
 Adobe cs4 has made significant improvement to the 3d
engine built in to the software.
 You can now paint directly on 3D models.

 make 3D objects from 2D images.

 convert gradient shapes to objects.

 enhance text layers by giving them depth as well as

export your creation to commonly used 3D formats.
AUTO BLEND LAYERS
 Sometimes even the best pictures suffers from a little
fuzziness.
 For eg; in a product shoot and you have the left side of
the product tack sharp, but the right side is blurry. Then
you open the next image and the right side is sharp but
the left side is blurry.
 You can now select a group of layers and select
Edit>Auto Blend and the layers will be blended to reveal
only the sharpest portions of them, mimicking a sharper
depth of field.

THE ADJUSTMENT PANEL
 we can now select all of your adjustments from within a
panel, and Photoshop CS4 takes care of making the
associated layers and automatically makes for us.
 The corrections that are made are non destructive and sit
in the Layers Panel.
 we can then go into those corrections and make more
specialized changes, making our workflow even faster.
THE ADJUSTMENT PANEL
ON SCREEN IMAGE CONTROL
 Sometimes we just want to point to a portion of an image
and don’t want to experiment with slider and curves.
 On-Screen image controls make that method of
correcting a reality.
 Clicking on the tool. you can then click on a specific
portion of an image and move it up down, left, or right to
see a change. 
 On-Screen Image controls exist for Hue/Saturation,
Curves, and Black and White

IMPROVED DODGE AND BURN TOOLS
 Improved algorithm in these tools lets results look less
destructive and more natural.

 Multiple images can now be opened at one time in tabs.
 The Photoshop Canvas can now be rotated to assist
traditional artists – it even conforms rules and guides to
this tilt
 The Hand tool has been improved so thazt moving around and
draging images is more smooth.
 In earlier versions of Photoshop, you needed to be in
specific Zoom percentages to be able to clearly see
specific elements of a design.
