XVI Century

This History was not sufficiently considered by the

Municipality of Castrocaro - not only by the
Municipality, but also on the part of those entities,
such as the local Thermal Bath Association, so the
Association of Hoteliers, who should have every
interest in promoting the territory among tourists,
and on which they work - to which I asked, on 2009
year, to bring the historical knowledge of the city and
its territory to those generations who were unaware
of the contents: I mean to the young people
especially, and among the tourists.
So, despite the time employed to make this well-
documented work, I found very interested to list it on
this site, in order to avoid to it to fall into oblivion.
Have you a good read.
• Castrocaro is little town on a masses rock, facing
Montone river and its valley. It’s surrounded by hills,
among which Poggiolo Hill, which is famous all over
Europe due to the fact that it is considered the most
ancient prehistoric factory: infact it’s still possible to
find on its ground choppers and other man-made
stones old more than 1 million of years.
• Have you a good reading about Castrocaro’s history
and apologize me for the mistakes I did on tranlating
in English my work !
