INDUSTRY FOCUSED SPECIAL PREFERENCES

LiveWIRE Brunei has introduced a concept that is of industry focused. Participants are required to explore focus business ideas in different industries that will contribute to the national interest. Any business plans or business ideas that fall in any of these industries will be given extra scores / points.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

General Entry Requirements:

For all categories of awards, participants must comply with the following requirements:

Be a Citizen or Permanent Residents of Negara Brunei Darussalam. In the context of partnerships businesses, permanent residents can participate as a member of a team or as partner. However, 50% of team members must comprise of citizen of Brunei Darussalam. Each group or team entry is limited to a maximum of five (5) members only Participant(s) are required to submit a total of 7 sets of their business plan, 1 original set and 6 photocopied sets.

No softcopy / e-mail / faxing of business will be entertained. Participant(s) must attach the original Awards Entry Form together with the submission of Business Plan. Participant(s) must also submit photocopies of Identity Cards, including those of team members or partners. Business Plan(s) that had previously won any awards or prizes in any previous competitions are not eligible for submission.

Category A Business Awards

For Category A3 participants over 40 years old within the year ended 30 June 2011 will not be accepted. The Business Plan submitted must not be used previously to start a business or entry for other business awards. For Category A1 & A2, the entry forms must be endorsed and signed by the Principal or teacher-in-charge of their respective schools or institution(s) in Negara Brunei Darussalam For Category A3, participants must have at least attended the LiveWIRE Brunei Training Programme i.e. Bright Ideas (BI) or/and Become a Successful Owner Manager (BSOM) workshops.

Category B LiveWIRE Business Network and LiveWIRE Brunei SME Awards

Must have attended two or more of the LiveWIRE Brunei Business Programmes. Must have a legal business operating in Negara Brunei Darussalam. Must be aged below 40 years old within the year ended 30 June 2011. For Category B1 the existing business must have been in operation for a minimum of six months. For Category B2 the existing business must have been in operation for at least 3 years and over. If the business is a Partnership or Sendirian Berhad, 50% partners or directors must be Citizens of Negara Brunei Darussalam. Participants must enclosed copies of their certificate of registration (Certificate 16/17), Incorporation Certificate and other relevant documents. Participants are required to submit a Business Establishment Profile. The Judging Process of Category B will be conducted based on the Business Establishment Profile, panel interview and business site visit.

LiveWIRE Brunei SPECIAL AWARDS

1. LiveWIRE Most Outstanding Award* Cash Prize: BND$1,500.00 * LiveWIRE Most Outstanding Awards will be awarded to the most unique, well presented, realistic, inspiring, original and practical business idea. 2. LiveWIRE Brunei Highest Entreis Awards** Prize: Nominated number of admission for LiveWIRE Brunei Business Programmes. **LiveWIRE Brunei Highest Entries Awards will be given to the highest entreies of participation from any educational institutions.

Judging Process
Participants must be prepared to provide additional information or data upon request of the judges. Short-listed entrants shall be invited to make a presentation of their Business Plans / Business Establishment Profile in front of a panel of judges. A maximum of two representatives per group are allowed to make the presentations. For Category B, the judges will make a site visit to the business premises of the short-listed candidates. The judges reserved the rights to penalize and/or disqualify any entrants that do not meet the required standards and entry criteria. All decision made by the panel of judges are IRREVOCABLE and FINAL

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Any entries received after the closing date and time will not be accepted. All submissions must be delivered by hand and in hardcopy format. No email / softcopy / faxing of the business plan / Business Establishment Profile will be entertained.
