It is the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region . Every year, one member country plays host to the meeting. APECs members represent 4 % of the global population, 49% of international trade and 56% of the worlds Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
