Jamnalal Bajaj was the founding father of the Bajaj Group. A veteran freedom fighter. The adopted 'fifth' son of Mahatma Gandhi. And the 'Merchant Prince' who held the wealth he created in trust for the people of his country.

Established in 1976 to for promoting gandhian constructive programs and assisting constructive workers who devoted themselves to the national cause. Foundation has instituted four annual awards each carrying a cash prize of Rs. 5,00,000/- or its equivalent in foreign currency and a trophy. After the demise of Jamnalalji in 1942, as per his wishes, the first charitable trust, Jamnalal Bajaj Seva Trust was established. trust assisted Sarvodaya workers and Gandhian constructive programs. In 1960 for promoting agriculture, dairy development, rural development and training local women and youth for selfemployment the trust purchased about 400 acres of land on the outskirts of Bangalore. In 1961 trust made a donation to the University of Mumbai for establishing the first management institute in Mumbai, the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

The main objective of this trust is to improve their quality of life, eliminating poverty, empowering women, development of human and natural resources Presently this is done in 24 remote and backward villages in Khed and Maval talukas of Pune, Paithan and Gangapur talukas of Aurangabad. Established on 12th August 1988 in memory of the Venerable Nichidatsu Fujii, the founding preceptor of 'Nippozan Myohoji. The main objectives of the trust are: To propagate the message of Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi of world peace, love, non-violence and equality of all religions. To organise and conduct similar other activities for the benefit of humanity at large based on the Sarvodaya philosophy To organise exhibitions, publish literature, establish libraries and build monuments for the promotion of the objectives of the trust.

In 1988, Bajaj Group gave a donation to CFBP for instituting annual awards in the name of Jamnalal Bajaj. In the Jamnalal Bajaj Centenary year, the Bajaj Group made a donation of Rs. 3.5 million to the S.N.D.T. Women's University for setting up a CFBP Food Testing Laboratory.

Over and above the philanthropic activities directly undertaken by the Bajaj Group charitable trusts, several social, cultural and health care projects have been rendered financial support by trusts promoted by the group. Some of the recipients are Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Indian School of Business, Poona Medical Research Foundation, Kasturba Health Society, Indian Burns Research Society, K.E.M.
