Nissan Motor Company A vehicle manufacturing company in which the shareholding is Ashok Leyland: 51% and Nissan: 49% A powertrain manufacturing company in which Nissan has 51% and Ashok Leyland 49%. John Deere & Company A 50:50 Joint Venture to manufacture and market construction equipment under both the Ashok Leyland and John Deere brands. Automotive Infotronics A 50:50 Joint Venture set up to design, develop and adapt infotronics products and services for automotive customers and will cater to the requirements of Ashok Leyland and available opportunities with other vehicle manufactures in India and overseas. Tata Motors: Largest Automobile Manufacturer in India with the wide range of heavy vehicles adhering to world class standards. Has a market share 64.5%. Eicher Motors : Initiated in 1960 First to manufacture tractor in India. Swaraj Mazda : A tie up between Mazda and Swaraj Enterprise. Manufactures various products such as Bus , Ambulance , trucks etc. Mahindra : Already in market with tractor , but after launching Navistar Trucks recently directing competing with Ashok Leyland. Volvo: Swedish Builder of commercial vehicles , including trucks, buses and construction equipment.

Challenges
The domestic sales of the company are not up to the mark. Ashok Leyland has not got a foothold in the luxury trucks segment in its domestic market. CNG buses of Ashok Leyland are also not playing well on the roads, some or other break down creating problem for them.
