Creating Filters in Shared Services Console

y You add filters in the Essbase Administration console regardless of

whether you are using native authentication or external authentication. Right click on the dbname | create |filters. y If you use external authentication, you have to assign the filter to the user in shared services. y To do that from Available Roles, grant the user access to the server. Then expand the available roles all the way down to filter access. y Then in the provisioning hierarchy expand so you can see the application name. Right click and choose Assign Access Control. Select the user. Then hit next. You should be able to select the filter on that screen and hit the check mark to apply it. You will need to refresh the security in the Admin console.
