Major Activities of Divisions of CAL : Formulation of Agmark Specification. Revision of Agmark Grade Specification. Research Project. Research Paper. Duplicate sample Analysis. Training to Chemists. Technical advice, inspection at RAL. Compilation of various reports.

Major Activities of Divisions of CAL :-

The allotment of project is done in the beginning of the financial year and the project is to be normally completed in one year i.e. by end of March. The project / research work allotted by the Head of the division to all Regional Laboratory is based on availability of staff and the infrastructure at a RAL. The data analyzed from RAL and field formations is used to formulate a specification and is sent by the Director to Agricultural Marketing Adviser ( AMA ) for issue of notification in Gazette.

NETWORK OF LABORATORIES UNDER CAL :

The Central Agmark Laboratory is assisted by a Network of twenty three Regional Agmark Laboratories (RALs) spread

through out India, which are also engaged in quality Control of agricultural and allied products and generating data on India basis.

To make suitable recommendation for overcoming the gradation of Commodity. To familiarize with the methodology of Computerisation in Analytical data analysis of Commodity. To make the system Web enabled for sharing Regional Agmark Laboratory analytical data collection. To linkup management skills with new Information Technology. To expertise / expedite the analysis of commodity. To maintain account of analytical statistical data. To make available information / data of Grade & Specification of commodity on Commercial Basis. To develop a Centralized system for generating reports of various commodities of acquisition / possession.

SCOPE

To make available analytical data of sample commodity report on Web. The observation / analytical data analysis through computer application for generate graphs / maps. To collect relevant information of commodities / samples of various regions and make available to Govt. and non-Government organizations. Standardisation of analytical ( commodity wise, parameter wise ) report format of day-to-day data analysis work. Data transmission through e-mail / web based application to Central Agmark Laboratory fro Regional Agmark Laboratories of various States.

SCOPE

To develop new method of analysis or to identify new adulterant in the field of food and agriculture commodities. To evolve / standardization methods of analysis / tes under quality assurance system of agriculture and food products. To adopt computerized method for analysis / test data of commodity. To display analytical result of commodity and make available data were statistically analysed and the statement showing frequency distribution of different quality factor in different ranges and their percentage share in total.

SCOPE

To automate and standardise the grades for five years for the existing agmark commodities so that For the given specifications computer will give the result. Standardised Agmark commodities make available on the web.

SYSTEM PERSPECTIVE:

The system will comprise the Central Agmark aboratory and Twenty Two Regional Agmark Laborataries. The proposed system will offer the following functions: Database maintenance on-line generation report generation office automation analytical data analysis data transmission registration of commodities for formulation of Agmark Specification of Grade standards. Make available forms for registration and analytical data of Formulation of agmark specification of Grade standard Data normalization. Transaction and exceptions.

General Requirements:

This section enumerates the requirements, other than the specific functional requirements for the functioning of proposed system. It also cater to issue related to security, external interfaces and backup modes. External Interface Requirement: 1. User Interface: The system will have a Graphical User Interface (GUI) with an online facility. All fields on the screen will have intuitive labels and list of valid values will be displayed wherever possible.

General Requirements:

2 Hardware Interface: The proposed system will involve a number of computers connected in a Local Area Network (LAN) at each of the locations to access data from the server. The LANs in individuals Divisions Laboratories will be connected and the Desktops at Regional Agmark Laboratories of various state will be connected to CAL through leased lines (Dialup through telephone). Computers for desktop as well as a Server(SQL server, LAN Server) Printers . For printing the various documents & reports Digitizer .. For data analysis generate graph Data Communication equipment, such as hubs, switches, modems etc.

General Requirements:

Software Interface: The proposed solution needs to be integrated with other Loboratories across the States. The Web enable data transmission, the registration of specification / gradation of Commodities, display information on Web. The analytical data analysis software for analysis the specification / gradation of Commodities.
