Senior Information Architect

Develops target architectures and reference architectures for the Data Management and Information Strategy (DMIS). Analyzes, evaluates, and proposes architectures for data supply and movement (data provisioning). Works with business end users and their technical support colleagues to collect and document requirements, including requirements for historical data, static reference data, client and product data, etc. Should have broad knowledge of financial services, with proven experience in architecting enterprise-level systems.

Specific Job Responsibilities Development of reference architectures and target architectures, architectural policies, standards, and guidelines, and supporting documents, drawings, presentations, etc. Work with DMIS Governance and Controls to ensure that architectures are in support of adopted policies. Establish a working record of the DMIS architecture as it develops. Work with divisional architects and related stakeholders to collect, document, and address architectural issues, and explain and justify enterprise architecture solutions. Advise the Data Management Architecture Executive on architectural questions. Work with business stakeholders and data stewards to gather requirements, and to ensure that the DMIS program is delivering business value and that that value is perceived. Key Desired Experiences At least 10 years experience in information technology, at least 4 of which spent in financial services. Served in a leadership role on programs impacting data management strategy inside or outside of BAC Proven successful experience developing architectures at the scale of an enterprise or large division, where a mix of possibly conflicting technologies exist. Well-versed and experienced in applying in fundamental information architecture principles, especially including data provisioning, data modeling, reference data management, and metadata management. Experienced with a variety of data movement technologies, including several of: ETL, database replication, XML-based messaging, data caching. Experienced with the model-driven development of relational databases. Well-versed in relational theory; proven successful application of theory to practice. Able to communicate clearly with non-technical personnel about complex technical subjects. Able to reduce business requirements to writing, in a way that is clear to business stakeholders and precise enough to be used as the basis for technical implementation.

Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelors degree (required) or evidence of equivalent knowledge Masters degree (preferred)
