Abrahamic religions are religions which share the figure Abraham in their religion, although he plays different roles

in each of the three religions. Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are all considered to be the main Abrahamic religions, as Abraham appears in the religious texts of all of these faiths. All Abrahamic religions are monotheist, believing in one god, and they have Semitic origins. In the case of Judaism and Islam, Abraham is viewed as the father of the religion and in the case of Christianity, Abraham plays the role of a spiritual father, because Christianity is derived from Judaism.

Abraham's story is written in several religious texts, and in his long life, he participated in a number of events of religious and historical importance in the opinions of believers of the Abrahamic faiths. He is most famous for making a covenant with God which allowed him to have many children with his wife Sarah long after the two were past the natural age of being able to conceive a child.
