Education must make the student think.

The education system in India puts more emphasis on the theoretical knowledge than practical. The system is there just to keep the students occupied, now-a-days we rarely learn new skills. Todays education system is in the hands of the government. Todays education system in India is just like a bird without a wing or a man without a brain.

The education system of India is academic oriented and marks dependent. Foreign countries respect and value the distinctive talent of the individual. Taking bribes and offering seats has become so common in this world. For more money, private institutions offer a global exposure. The quality of teachers and the quality education found in various universities differs drastically.

One of the UNESCOS institutions says that 25% teacher absenteeism in India is among the highest in the world. Politics in teacher appointments and transfers is a major reason. Teachers also believe highly in private tutoring a practice identified by UNESCO as unethical. It does not complement learning at school and leads to corruption the report said. Teachers mismanagement in institutions were other gray areas identified in indian education system.

Lack of structure Lack of Infrastructure Lack of flexibility Less open to changes Corruption and many more.BARS

Considering it with the help of an example. First year A dreams of being an economist. B wants to take up a career in organic chemistry. C wants to attend linguistic classes. Second year A writes MBA exam B writes MBA exam C writes MBA exam

Because they have been disillusioned by the education they receive in college. They are sick of subjects that are strictly confined to classrooms. They know that it will be impossible to make a living with their skills and knowledge. Our college devote their entire time and resources teaching syllabus ,but never concentrate on departing skills.

Other reason could be parental interference in the education of the children. Parental guidance is necessary but it should not interfere in the creativity or individuality of the students.

Educational policies have tended to be traditional and conservative, and historically have at first resisted efforts to institute progressive changes. Nevertheless, several factors, such as societal changes, innovative technology and new research in educational methodologies, have pushed education policies and curricula to adjust and to adapt to new circumstances

technology

globalization

Factors
Societal changes Educational paradigms

Technology has brought about changes in many fields, including education, where information is now often delivered by computer and in PowerPoint presentations. Technology has also made distance and online education more popular and more effective, which has reduced costs and made possible quality learning despite cuts in education budgets.

The education system needs to adapt to

changes brought on by globalization, the increasing economic and political interdependence of different parts and cultures of the world. Educators cannot merely focus on the needs of a single nation, but must embrace other ways of thinking and seeing the world. Content, methodologies and research must be refined to succeed in a global context

Societal trends and movements are made concrete in laws and in education policy. When an idea gains political currency, voters elect politicians who share their values. This can have a direct effect on education. For example, following the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1951, the civil rights movement worked to end racial segregation in schools.

New research and insights into the psychology of learning have changed education policy over the years. Alternative methods, such as Montessori and Waldorf schools, have arisen because people disagree with traditional educational methods and philosophies. Educational paradigms need to reflect those changes in outlook and philosophy to offer better and more comprehensive education for all students.

Need for transformative change in the education system Draw on student-based technology resources in a transformative fashion 75-90% of students own and are already engaged with using and enjoy the use of cell phones in their everyday social lives Students are disconnected from everyday technology tools while at school It is not about the tool, but the engagement and motivation Using a cell phone may not enhance an assignment, but it may be the motivating factor to engage disengaged students who love using their cell phones

Make use of spare time by using a technology with which students are familiar Students do not have access to expensive (paid by districts) curriculum-specific technologies outside of school Student use of cell phones is directly connected with the personal experiences and authentic use of technology Many Web 2.0 resources that pair with cell phones are free and readily available Students can use their phones to connect with peers, make, edit and publish both

Much of 21st Century business is/will be conducted via cell phone Students need to learn how to use their cell phones appropriately and professionally Provide real-life opportunities to teach about copyright, content creation, protection of privacy and ethical use Constructive Uses vs. Destructive Uses Safety & Etiquette

Children in the present generation are more focused towards their career. E-education is becoming popular in the present scenario. Its time for India to think of the current educational setup demand and change. Concrete steps should be taken to reformulate our methodology of imparting education. Improper education system can have serious consequences in the future.
