ANTHONY GOICOLEA

De origen cubano, naci en Georgia Atlanta en ao de 1971 Estudio Licenciatura en Bellas Artes en la Universidad de Georgia. Maestria en Escultura y Fotografia en el Pratt Institute Art (1994-1996). Tambien curso estudios en la Universidad de Madrid Estudios en Pintura e Historia del Arte (U.G) Hizo su debut en 1999 con You & What Army En 2005, recibi el Premio BMW-para la fotografa A partir del 2003, Goicolea comienza a producir vdeos. Actualmente vive en New York y muestra el trabajo con la galera de Postmasters (N.Y) y Aurel Scheibler en Berln, Alemania.

El pionero de las bellas artes fotgrafo Cindy Sherman es una influencia evidente en el trabajo Goicolea s, teniendo en cuenta su propio uso extensivo de los autorretratos y el nfasis en los temas narrativos sexualmente cargada. Sherman y Goicolea tambin han tenido varias exposiciones colectivas. a pesar de tener numerosas figuras en ellos, las fotografas Goicolea son en realidad muy compleja a gran escala de auto-retratos, y siempre se hace de una manera perfectamente realista.

En sus primeros trabajos Goicolea experimenta con el objetivo de su cmara fotogrfica explorando con su personal y potica visin sobre la identidad sexual y de gnero. Goicolea multiplicado y personificando sus inquietudes gracias a las nuevas tcnicas digitales. Los clones de si mismo se pelean, se abrazan y hasta se mean unos a otros en las series fotogrficas con las que se dio a conocer -'You and What Army', 'Summer Camp' y 'Detention'-.

El uso de colores sutiles contrasta con el uso de formas negras, reduciendo las lneas a la mnima expresin. Son dibujos figurativos y ms personales, con menor informacin y estructura narrativa, pero imprescindibles para entender la totalidad de su obra. La escenografa se vuelve ms complicada y gana en importancia robando protagonismo a las figuras humanas. Son paisajes espeluznantes construidas exclusivamente por el artista y para la instalacin
