What is The Atlantic Cup?


3 Ports Along the Eastern Seaboard
Port 1 Charleston, SC - Friday Evening, May 11
Happy Hour has never been more fun as thousands of fans, dignitaries and sponsors gather to watch the start of the Atlantic Cup in Charleston Harbor. Once the gun goes off, competitors will race doublehanded 680 nautical miles (approximately 3 days) to New York.

Port 2 New York, NY Saturday, May 19


Fans, tourists and passers-by line up along the sea wall in heavily-trafficked Battery Park City to watch the boats re-start as they sprint double-handed to Newport, RI.

Port 3 Newport, RI May 26-27 - Memorial Day Weekend


Summer kicks-off in Newport as thousands watch the fleet up close as they race fully crewed a series of 3 races daily in Narragansett Bay

Special Events
Event Village Charleston & New York City
Top quality, inviting village in both cities will be free and open to the public with live
musical entertainment, opportunities to engage with sponsors, tour the boats and meet the skippers.

Private VIP area will be staged in each village. Sponsors will have the opportunity to address the guests and display, sample and/or
sell merchandise

Live commentary will entertain spectators as they watch the start of the race in both
Charleston & New York

Atlantic Cup Day in New York City - Friday, May 18th
See New York City like youve never seen it before while you experience the rush of
sailing on a Class40. With the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline as your backdrop, your VIP crew spots will have you on board competing against your fellow sponsors for an exciting, fun race in New York Harbor.

Following the VIP Pro-Am, the event village will open to the general public. Local students will tour the boats, learn about the race and how the Atlantic Cup
works toward minimizing its carbon footprint

A special Pro-Am prize giving along with an opportunity to talk to the skippers will
conclude Atlantic Cup Day

Special Events
Spectator Boats - Saturday & Sunday May 26th & 27th in Newport, RI Spectators can buy tickets for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get out on the water and watch inshore racing. Live commentary will be available on every spectator boat to enhance the viewing experience.
Prize Giving Sunday, May 27th in Newport, RI Finish Party and prize giving at the Newport Shipyard - Newport, RI Prize purse of $30,000 will be awarded

The sport of sailing is full of entrepreneurial promoters who just dont understand that every new event cannibalisms and fragments an already complicated industry There are opportunities though, and we like the thinking employed by Manuka Sports in the development of the Atlantic Cup.
