POWER SUPPLY

ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS:

DIRECT CURRENT (DC) POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT:

A circuit used to transform alternating current (AC) to direct current.

DC power supply is capable of increasing or decreasing the input voltage depending on the type of transformer used.
Rectification is the process when the voltage meet the required value that transformed into DC voltage. The voltage produced still has an alternating current form called ripples, which are then removed by a filter.

A voltage regulator is used in order to ensure that the output is stabilized.

Half-Wave Rectifier
The diode blocks the current on the negative half of the cycle The diode conducts on the positive half of each cycle and passes the voltage to the load

Output: half-wave varying DC (using only half the AC wave)
