What is Recorder?

A recorder is a measuring instrument that displays a time varying signal in a form easy to examine, even after the original signal has ceased to exist. Recorders provide a graphic record of variation in the quantity being measured and an instantaneous indication for monitoring at the same time as it makes graphic record. 4/23/12

Strip Chart Recorder

Itis anelectromechanicaldevice that records an electrical or mechanical input trend onto a piece of paper (the chart). In this recorder, a pen is connected to the moving pointer(stylus) and it is making marks on vertically moving paper. Different methods are used to record 4/23/12 data on strip chart paper.

Galvanometer Type Recorder

In this type of recorder a pen ink stylus is connected to the tip of the pointer of the galvanometer. As the pointer of galvanometer deflects due to the magnetic field caused by current through coil, pen also deflects and mark this deflection on the paper. In this type of recorders paper speed 4/23/12 is very much important and it

Null Type Recorder

This recorders work on principle of null condition. When input is applied to measuring circuit of recorders then initially balanced circuit of recorder is disturbed and this disturbance voltage is given to other device which stores it and try to make it again at null position. Different types of Null recorders are

Circular Chart Recorder

In this recorder data is recorded on a flat circular disk. In this recorder a measuring element, an operating mechanism, a chart drive and a recording device is mounted on a flat single panel. In this recorder, motion of measuring element is conveyed to recording device and for better measurement the chart is fastened by spring clips. 4/23/12

X Y Recorder

In this type of recorder one variable is plotted aginst another variable. They are of two types: Analog X Y Plotters :- In this recorder writing head is controlled by servo feedback system or by self balancing potentiometer. The movement in X Y direction is obtained by sliding a pen and moving 4/23/12 arrangement. arm

Magnetic Recorder

Data recorded from this recorders can be played infinite time and can also be played by slowing down the data or speed up the data. They are used to measure high frequency data. Different methods of recordings are as below: Direct Recording
