Poems based on The Magic Box by Kit Wright By Willow Class

I will put in the box the swish of a silk sari on a summer night, fire from the nostrils of a Chinese dragon, the tip of a tongue touching a tooth. I will put in the box a snowman with a rumbling belly a sip of the bluest water from Lake Lucerne, a leaping spark from an electric fish. I will put into the box three violet wishes spoken in Gujarati, the last joke of an ancient uncle, and the first smile of a baby. I will put into the box a fifth season and a black sun, a cowboy on a broomstick and a witch on a white horse. My box is fashioned from ice and gold and steel, with stars on the lid and secrets in the corners. Its hinges are the toe joints of dinosaurs. I shall surf in my box on the great high-rolling breakers of the wild Atlantic, then wash ashore on a yellow beach the colour of the sun. Kit Wright

My World
I will put in my world The splash of an enchanted baby seal, The secrets of the lost city of Atlantis and the Bermuda triangle And the shine of a samurai warriors sacred sword. I will put in my world The gappy grin of a great granddad, the gorgeous gummy giggle of a newborn baby and the happy howl of a dog in a muddle. I will put in my world The fuming war chants of the tribesmen from a Tiki village, The sarcastic smile of a scary slithering snake and the amazement of the seven wonders joined together. My world is decorated with The finest jewels and riches from a million galaxys, It has the shine of the northern lights and the treasure trove of every pirates voyage. My world is decorated with Beautiful Animals that have not been discovered, with the powers of the Pegasus and much more, My world has everything you could ever imagine. My world is spectacular in every way from the little things like the win of a school football team to the bigger things like shooting the winning goal at the world cup Would you come to my world? The Magic World

I will put in my world, The hoof of a horse spraying up sand, A fifty yard tapestry of an old kings life, The gold of the sun, touching the sea. I will put in my world, My world is made of many things, Ice is frosting the edges, Yellow beach laid out in the corners, And the clear, sea water, that glitters in the sunshine.

The Antarctic snow the colour of the moon, The snorkelling sights under the sea, The taste of a Chinese curry under the night sky.
I will put in my world, A golden wish from an ancient Greek goddess, The golden buttercups from a hot corn field, The turquoise breakers of the Cornish coast.

I will skate in my world, Spraying up the cold ice and letting it land on the snow, As I skate to my freedom, Jumping and twirling in the sunlight

My Magic World!!
I will put in my world The blue splash of a dolphins fin The laughter of a child The pink shine of a dress in the summer sunset.
I will put in my world The animals of snowy Antarctica The chestnut brown ponies gallop on the sea front The sound of dogs playing in the light sunset. I will put in my world The call of an English puffin The smell of roses at night The sound of children playing on a warm summers day. My world is fashioned with.... Waves from the south of the black sea The mountains of the tropical island I shall live in my world Will you join me?

Darcie Hambidge

The slow wave of a princess as she quietly walks away One thousand golden daffodils in a lonely field I will put in my world... A sparkle from the birth of a new star A buzz of a bee as it dances around the flower jungle A teardrop from a mermaid as she says goodbye I will put in my world... The butterflies in someones stomach as they fall in love The push of the waves as I glide into the sunrise And the glow of 10,000,000 fireflies lighting up the dark nights of a spring wonderland My world is lighted with the shine of the northern lights, reflecting down on me. The warm breeze of the trees, tickle my face as I fly. My world leads a secret passage into space but you wouldnt dare go there. I shall swim with the sharks in my box, as the salty water of the sea glides through my hair. I will fly with the birds in my box as we end up in a warm dessert. Then I shall dig a hole, and sleep in my box.
