COMPANY PROFILE
The Hindustan Times finally came into being on

September 1924 and was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi. The newspaper was to become a premier nationalist newspaper of the capital in the turbulent years preceding independence. This is one of the most popular newspaper in the most populated cities & states in India. 1936 The Hindi daily Hindustan was launched, which remains the dominant newspaper in the core Hindi belt of northern India.

1937 Devdas Gandhi was appointed the Managing Editor of the newspaper and remained the managing editor till his death in 1957. 1960 The hindi literary magazine Kadambini was launched. 1964 The group started actively targeting the youth of India and launched the Nandan magazine. 2006 Fever 104 FM is launched, in technical collaboration with the Virgin Group. 2007 Mint, the business paper in partnership with the Wall Street Journal was launched in Delhi and Mumbai.

several awards this year. Hindustan is the third largest daily newspaper in India with a readership of 9.3 million (Source: IRS, R2 2009). The Hindustan Times records a current average circulation of 5,02,729 copies. Popular in North India.

MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS

The first signs of co-operation between Delhis arch rivals Hindustan

Times and The Times of India were seen in Mumbai. When The Hindustan Times was launched in Mumbai, The Times of India group lent its distribution infrastructure to the newspaper. The Birla-owned newspaper, in turn, printed Mumbai Mirror for The Times of India at its own printing facilities.
Hindustan Times tied up with Amar Ujala for cross-selling space in the

two papers. Hindustan Times Media group has bought social networking site Desimartini.com, through its online subsidiary Firefly e-Ventures.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Media is very important for every person. I am able to know that company works because they motivate the employees giving awards and rewards of company depends upon their advisers because they talk with people and sell the news. Advisers are those persons, adviser have good source in the market and good communication then that person can sell the news very easily. Surviving is very tough because there are so much pressure by the head dept. and target is not so easy for everyone. CONCLUSION
Newspapers like Hindustan Times, Hindustan Hindi Daily, and other part of the Hindustan Media Venture Ltd. have done a lot in the direction of informing people about regular happenings around India and around the world also. Hindustan Media Venture (nicknamed HT) is a really good newspaper, containing all the functions of mass communication, setting standards from the times before our independence.
