Before we can help endangered animals, we
must find out some information about them.
We know that we now know that we need
some nonfiction books, but which part of the
books should we look at first?”
TITLES
The first part of the book you should look
at is the title.
The title helps you predict (guess) what
the book will be about.

closer look. What part of the books do we

contents, we are ready to begin learning how
to use it. Do you know what we call the name
of each chapter? That’s right, they are called
chapter headings. We look at the chapter
headings to find out what kind of information
might be found in each chapter.”
