History of Intrabody communication

First proposed by IBM

Red Tacton
Red Tacton is a Human Area Networking Technology Uses the surface of the human body as a safe, high speed network transmission path.
Uses weak electric fields on the surface of human body instead of relying on EM waves or light waves. Attains a speed up to 10 Mbps --equivalent to a fast broadband connection.

Block Diagram of Red Tacton Transceiver

Principle
Red Tacton relies upon the principle that the optical properties of an electro-optic crystal can vary according to the changes of a weak electric field.

How Red Tacton works?

Mechanisms

Working Procedure
1.Transmitter sends data. 2.Transmitter create a change in field. 3. Field from human body dissipates into earth. 4. Electric field is received using sensing technology. 5. Receiver recognizes the change in the electric field. 6. Sensing technology measures the weak electric fields induced. 7. Electro-optical crystal uses laser to convert and read the signal.

Human Safety
Transmitter and Receiver electrodes in the transceiver are covered with insulated film. When communication occurs, displacement current is generated by the electrons in the body because it is subjected to minute electrical fields. There is also no risk of radiation problems as electromagnetic waves are not used.

Touch

features

Media

Touch
Touching, gripping, walking, stepping and other human movements can be the triggers for unlocking or locking, starting or stopping equipment, or obtaining data.

Broadband And Interactive

Communication speed can deteriorate in crowded spaces due to a lack of Bandwidth (wireless LAN).

Communication speed will not reduce even in crowded space while using Red Tacton

Any Media
In addition to the human body, various conductors and dielectrics can be used as transmission media. Conductors and dielectrics may also be used in combination

Wireless headset

Security applications
User verification and unlocking with just a touch

Automatic access log for confidential document storage

Comparison with Other Technologies

High transfer speed.

Simultaneous use by many people in small space is efficient performed by Red Tacton.

Using Red Tacton the specification of user positioning is excellent.

Advantages
Body-based networking is more secure than broadcast systems. Network congestion due to fall in transmission speed in multi user environments is avoided. A Communication Environment can be created easily and at a low cost.

Disadvantages
It has no compelling applications that are already available. Development is too costly. This technology can be used only within a few centimetres.

Future developments
Reduction in size to be embedded in other communication devices.

Artificial Intelligence in Red Tacton

conclusion
When we compare Red Tacton with other technology present today it can give a better performance over others.

To connect the network with in short distances Red Tacton technology is the best.
In this technology there is no threat of hackers as our body is itself a media.
