What is a text box ?

 Text box is a place where we can enter any text

in the slide area
 There are two kinds of text boxes:
 One comes with the slide layout and

 Other, created in the slide area, by the user,

using Text box of Drawing Toolbar

Process of insertion of text
 The Text boxes contain “Click to add text or
title” message. This is called place holder.
 Click on the place holders
 The Insertion Point moves into the beginning
of the Text Box, the message disappears
 Enter the text
 When you enter the text, the text box is in
selection mode
 To come out of this mode, click any area
outside the text box

Other way of adding text boxes using
Drawing toolbar

 The drawing tool bar contains Text Box icon

 It can be used to draw our own text boxes any where in

the slide area

 Click on the Text box icon available on the drawing
toolbar
 The Mouse Pointer is changed to
 Click on the slide area where you want text box

 A text box appears like this

 It can be increased or decreased as per need

Editing of text in text boxes

 To edit text in the text boxes

 Click on the text, the text box is selected
 It allows to edit the text in the normal way as in
MS word

Points to note:

 The insertion point is placed inside the text box

 We can edit the text as we do in the MS word
