What are the current technologies you are using in data management? At the moment we are using our data base as DB2 UNIVERSAL DATA BASE, its a sever base data base; it doesnt have a client & server components, so when a user is talking to the data base, it directly talk to the server database Why you are using this specific database? Its more reliable & it doesnt have any down time & you dont need DBA to manage the database. Its an Auto self healing & self management data base

Did you use any other data base software before using this DB2? Yes, we were using MSSQL Why are you changed to DB2 from MSSQL? did you face any problems with the previous database? Yes, we had lot of problems like more down time & you have to have a dedicated person to manage the data base & Lot of over heads were there & Need to purchase licence to each & every servers, there was about 20 - 30 servers we have to manage in Microsoft SQL severs, now this DB2 we have only one server

Is this the only software you are using to manage databases? Yeah, it is the only main software we are using and some sub software's are thereWe are using MYSQL for our mobile banking services we use Ccrystal Reports to write reports what are the special features in db2? Main special feature is we Dont need a data base administrator, it has self healing, and self maintenance features

Do you have any data base principles regarding how managing data & security purpose?
We can assign who & who are allow to use the data base, who manage I mean update the data base we can grant permission by user wise column wise some users may be 2 columns in the table & some may be 10 columns in the table

How this DB2 software improve business performance & decision making?
Earlier days we didnt have a core solution for a data base now we have core solutions with DB2 I mean at a given time we can see reports, we can see the database We can have our own MIS running in business aspect it mean prior to that we need 2 have another software to handle the MIS at the moment we dont need this

How can you give an assurance about your data quality?

In db2 It never crashes the database & the down time is zero so we can assure the data quality 100% Because every user is assign write or update the database it has 2 mechanism one is request from the database & go to the client & client has to pass an other signal that data is received properly. It is automatically handled.

How you distribute data within your branches?

We have Centralized system so all the table we have the branch code. particular branch can be only check it has more specific measures to check One is users login & assign to particular branch can be eligible for all data Have you planned any development in data base management in future? At the moment we don't planning any thing about data management & we do some updates time to time

Well., It is a great software I have worked for a last 12 years, never come across any data crashes or I have never lose any data, even hard disk fails I was managed to rescuer data properly

Nature of DB2
DB2 software is built in with our A400 so dont want to pay extra. DB2 is a text based software. There is No visual & graphical characters; all are in coding To give input, key board is only needed No use of mouse. Can easily export to SQL sever database to view contents & details
