Equipment Required
Main Generators Auxiliary Generators Emergency Generator distribution panels transformers bus transfer equipment switchgear for control of generators and distribution of power.
Load Analysis
First the aggregate connected load is calculated The Probable Peak Load can then be calculated The Operating load for an application is calculated by applying a Load Factor to the Connected Load Load Factor for each application represents the percentage of maximum possible load that could be placed on the generator in a 24-hour period 24Rare loads such as, fire pumps, emergency bilge pumps, and search lights receive a load factor of zero

Main Generators
Determining Peak Load from load list Select Main Generators Power generating plants have at least two sets of service generators One in operation the other on stand-by. standGenerator must be rated to carry at least 125 % of Total peak load. -Safety Factor -account for the occasional high load from equipment -provides room for additional loads that may be added later Two Gas Turbine engines are used -Natural Gas readily available from oil production -Light weight and compact design -Extra space for production equipment and oil storage
Two G.E. Lm2500PE generator sets will be installed on this FPSO -one in operation, the other on stand by Generator set is rated to carry 135% of Total Peak load 10 percent more than what is necessary
Two caterpillar 3508B marine diesel generator sets will be installed on this FPSO. One set capable of handling all auxiliary loads and the other on stand-by standIf main power generation system fails, 887.4 gallons of fuel are required to run one generator at full load for 18 hours Fuel tank of 900 gallons is recommended The generator is rated to carry 147% of peak auxiliary load. -22% more than what is necessary
rated to carry 154 percent of peak emergency load This is 29 percent more than what is necessary
Conclusion
Two main G.E. Lm2500PE the generator sets - 30240 kW each Two Auxiliary caterpillar 3508B marine diesel generator sets - 715 kW each One emergency Caterpillar 3506 Marine Diesel Generator set - 99 kW.
