Different domain of children development? Ages stages development? Specific behaviour in the domain?
What method will you use for observing? Are some methods more appropriate for certain kinds of behaviours than others?

At the back of the room? Observation room? A corner of a place?
Are there certain times of the day that might work better for some observations? Will you try to get samples of behavior for some different times of the day? Will the observations be based on one occurrence or several? Will they last for 5 mins @ 10 mins? Will they be spaced over several days, weeks or months?
Will you keep a page in a loose-leaf notebook for each child? Will you make a chart, a videotape, a case study, or use some other of documenting your observation?
Will you share the data you have gathered with parents, teachers, friends? What form will this sharing take? How will it be used in making changes within classroom?
Can the child s development be considered within the normal range for that particular age group? Eg: A child may be advanced in cognitive development but lack of social skills.
Intervene to help the child to adjust to the group.
Help teachers to plan for educational experiences that take advantage of their preferences. Eg: A group is interested about fish.

Design appropriate staff development to meet the needs of those who work with children.
General developmental levels of all children can determine the curriculum & social emotional climate of the group.
Wear appropriate clothing. Communication with the teachers. Show necessary documents. Be polite. Follow code of ethics. If you are sure of certain things, ask the teacher.
You may need to sit on floor. Simple conversation. Encourage children to do as much for themselves. Take time to listen to children.
Although it is natural to find some children more appealing than others, try not to show the favouritism. Respond to children by attending to their needs, not yours. Focus on how the children are doing than your own performance.
