WE WELCOME JESUS OUR KING AND SAVIOR

Who is your hero? Why do you consider him your hero?

yWe admire and honor people who did something great and wonderful. We call them our heroes.

The First Palm Sunday

Matthew 21:1-11

Teacher: A reading from the holy gospel according to Matthew ALL: Glory to You, Lord!

Jesus was going to Jerusalem.

He said, Go to the next town. There you will find a donkey. Bring it to me.

The disciples then led the donkey to Jesus.

They laid their coat on it and helped Jesus to ride it.

The people in Jerusalem heard that Jesus was coming.

They went out to meet Him.

They said, Hosanna! Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!

Teacher: The gospel of the Lord ALL: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ!

Where was Jesus going?

What did the people do to welcome Jesus?

What did the people say?

Why was Jesus popular? What did he do?

Many people believed in Jesus and considered Him their hero. When Jesus went to Jerusalem, the people were happy to see Him.

What kind of welcome did the people give Jesus?

When do we remember this particular event in the life of Jesus?

What is Palm Sunday?

Palm Sunday marks the first day of the Holy Week. Holy Week is the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.

What do people do during Palm Sunday? What do they bring in going to the Church?

What will the priest do to palm leaves that people bring? Why?

Jesus is our king and savior who serves, a king who is humble.

What are some ways to honor Jesus in our little way? How do we do it on Palm Sunday and everyday?

Some of the ways are: y Help those who need help. y Cheer up those who are sad. y Talk kindly to those who are lonely.
y Pray to Jesus everyday.

y Visit and adore Jesus in the chapel.
