TMSI: Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identify Function: Taking the place of IMSI to be transferred in radio interface to ensure the security of subscribers information.

Structure: consists of 4 octets, and the structure and coding can be chosen by agreement between operator and manufacturer in order to meet local needs.

Type:
TMSI, used in CS domain, allocated by VLR; P-TMSI, used in PS domain, allocated by SGSN;

Notes: the TMSI has only local significance (i.e. within a VLR and the area controlled by a VLR, or within an SGSN and the area controlled by an SGSN).

The IMEI is composed of the following elements (each element shall consist of decimal digits only):
Type Allocation Code (TAC). Its length is 8 digits; Serial Number (SNR) is an individual serial number uniquely identifying each equipment within each TAC. Its length is 6 digits; Spare digit: this digit shall be zero, when transmitted by the MS.

MSRN: Mobile Station Roaming Number Function: to route calls to called MS/UE Structure: the same as MSISDN Notes:
The MSRN must not be used for subscriber dialling. The MSRN normally uses number segment different from that of MSISDN. MSRN is allocated by the VLR that the called MS is visiting.

IMS Subscriber Identification

Private user identity: the unique global identifier of IMS users subscription . It is similar to IMSI, stored in HSS and cant be modify by UE. The Private User Identity identifies the subscription, not the user.
Format: similar to Email address. E.g. sip: zs6201081988@operator1.com

Public user identity: the called identifier of IMS subscriber when IMS subscriber using telecommunication service. It is similar to MSISDN, and can be informed to other subscribers.
Format: there are two types of public ID format, i.e. SIP URI and Tel URI SIP URI sip: Mike_public@operator1.com tel URI: +86 139 0001 2000

MSC/VLR/HLR/SGSN/GGSN Number

MSCs, GSNs and location registers are identified by international PSTN/ISDN numbers and/or Signalling Point Codes ("entity number", i.e., "HLR number", "VLR number", "MSC number", "SGSN number" and "GGSN number") in each PLMN.

SIP Address of IMS Equipment

In IMS subsystem, SIP protocol is widely used, and SIP address is used to identify related network equipment. For example, P/S/I-CSCF, BGCF, MGCF etc. use SIP address for addressing.

SIP address will be translated into IP address by DNS DNS service.
