He / she will be given one minute to act the given scenario. 5. The best group will get two points and one point for the other group in the post quiz.

3. FARCE
comedy which involves ridiculous or hilarious complications without regard for human values. is merely a more obvious way of inducing laughter rather than comedy. it does not stimulate thought.

4. MELODRAMA pays almost no attention to human values. its object is to give a thrill instead of a laugh.

5. SOCIAL/PROBLEM DRAMA
Drama of social criticism discusses social, economic, or political problems by means of a play.
aims to bring about changes in the social conditions.

6. FANTASY
A play sometimes, but not always, in comic

spirit in which the author gives free reign to his fantasy, allowing things to happen without regard to reality.

7. HISTORICAL PLAY is based on historical facts.

TYPES Medieval mystery plays -- dealt with Bible stories and allegorical mysteries. Chronicle plays -- dealt directly with historical scenes and characters. Masques -- were slight plays involving much singing and dancing and costuming. They were usually allegorical.

It is the term sometimes used to mean a summary of a plays story. The overall structure of a play.

Character
Protagonist Antagonist

Thought
Include the ideas and emotion implied by the overall meaning of the play. The theme.

Language
Is the conversation between two or more characters in a play.

Theme
It is what a story mean. May be directly and indirectly stated.

Climax / Denouement
Climax is the scene or incident that the fruition of the accumulated suspense, and that stirs the most intense feelings or emotions. Denouement is the working out of the plot, following the climax.

Music and spectacle


Music for speech and movement Spectacle intensifies emotion

Costume and Make-up


Every costume should be comfortable and securely put together.

The make-up crew should be allowed plenty of time to do their work after each actor is dressed.

Scenery and lighting


The scenery may be simple, for it is supposed only to suggest the scene. Proper lighting can add a great deal to the realism of the play.
