What is it for?
Designed for the housing and utilization of all educational media within the school. A basic requirement for a school to render quality service.
Provide quality support for teaching and learning through the integration and use of technology.

Educational Media Center


The Educational Media Center is a unit indispensable to the teacher-training programs of the School.

It provides the following services to the faculty, staff and students of the College: audio and/or video media materials, viewing services, conferencing services, production services, and consultant service on effective media utilization.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES


Exposure Provide students a center that would expose them to new and advance technology and instructional media appropriate for various fields of training. Experience Encourage students involvement utilizing their skills, talents and creativity participate in various academic and cultural affairs.

Excellence Recognize students abilities and achievements developed from their training in various media laboratories of the University to allow them to excel.
Global Competitiveness Prepare students for a broader competition in their field of expertise which provides them quality instruction in technology media resources.

The Educational Media Center function as a vital instrument as well as a basic requirement for quality education by enriching all parts of the schools educational process.

It shares a part for implementing the aims of the school as well as its objectives. It contributes more knowledge in the teaching and learning process. It helps for the development of students, for them to be holistically molded.

To teach. It serves as a teacher that teach students to search for new knowledge. And for all the teachers, it keeps them to be always updated for the new ideas.

To provide services. It gives different services that the students, teachers, and staffs would be needed. Materials should be borrowed and others should be given by the assistance of others. Offers different used like viewing educational movies, actual trainings and others.

A center for recreational reading, viewing and listening. It provides a variety of recreational materials to fulfill the current needs of the range of interest and abilities for the studentry; it provides assistance to students in the selection in the selection of these materials; it provides facilities for individual and group uses; it is concerned about the reluctant readers as well as the habitual one; it uses a variety of promotional techniques to encourage use of materials for recreational purposes.

EMC SERVICES

Educational Media Center provides an effective service for the academic staff, students, and accredited student organizations by assisting them in obtaining and maximum benefit from the use of the audio-visual function rooms for different incampus activities.

EMC SERVICES
1. Computer Laboratory Provides computers to be used for the students necessary needs. Can be used for typing, researching, downloading, uploading, e-mailing, and other tasks that a computer can provide. 2. Wireless Area There are provided area for those who have laptops and other wireless devices, that they can be used for their own exploration and discoveries for their own improvement.

2. Selection of Print and non-Print materials The librarians continually select and acquire print and non-print materials that suit the needs, interest and special abilities of the students and teachers. Teachers, middle supervisors, and the administration are encouraged to take active part in the selection process. 3. Grade Level newspaper Each grade level is given a subscription to a newspaper of their choice. It is a service rendered to ensure that the faculty is updated daily on current events locally and internationally.

4. Readable Materials for Resources Providing books and other reading materials for researching, project making and improving knowledge by the new information that it provides. 5. Printing services There are people who assists every students and teachers for printing the work their done (documents, pictures and the like) within the area itself

6. Photocopying Service A self-service photocopying machine is available for the faculty to Xerox materials. A corresponding amount is charged. 7. Video and Sound Production Simple productions for class instruction , program and schoolwide presentations are put together in the Audio-Visual area.

8. Multi-media Services Different non-print media-materials are acquired. Teachers are encouraged to maximize use of their materials. The procedures for reservation and usage is teahcer-friendly.
