Never before in the history has one date one moment in time been so significant to so many people around the world. There are many predictions and beliefs that Dec 21 2012 is The Dooms Day.

THE END OF WORLD

HISTORIC FACTS

The ancient Mayan foretold of Earths final day. The Mayan long count calendar which has lasted for 5125 years is set to end its final baktun (cycle) on this day. One theory has been put forward that planetary alignment will occur during the winter solstice during which the entire Milky Way (including the earth and the sun) will align at a point, known as the galactic equator. This alignment is so rare that it happens only once in every twenty five thousand years. When the galactic alignment occurs, it creates a combined gravitational effect between the Sun and the super massive black hole at the center of our galaxy, thus creating havoc on Earth.

SCIENTIFIC FACT

Another idea tied to 2012 involves a geomagnetic reversal (polar shift) as warned by Albert Einstein. It could possibly be triggered by a massive solar flare, which would release energy equal to 100 billion atomic bombs. This belief is supported by observations that the Earth's magnetic field is weakening, which could precede a reversal of the north and south magnetic poles.

PLANET X (NIBIRU)

Another prediction is that the 12th planet also called planet X or Nibiru will cut through our solar system between Earth and the sun in that year causing global devastation. Nibiru is one of the many planets that orbit Dark star or Brown Dwarf which has 5 minor planets, the sixth one as large as Earth and the seventh planet is what we call Nibiru. The prophecies of Nostradamus: Nostradamus was known for his prophecies through his writings. These are 4-lined poetic verses that are known as quatrains. In his quatrains, He also predicted a comet to pass by or hit the Earth. Scientists named it as planet X.

SOLAR STORM

Scientists also believe that solar maximum or solar storm which occurs in a 11 year cycle will happen in 2012. NASA has predicted that 2012 solar maximum will be the greatest since 1958. In the Christian Bible, the end of days is described as the Armageddon; which is brought upon by natural disasters and wars. According to the Holy Quuran, the end of days begins when the earths rotation is reversed, as predicted when the magnetic poles swap positions on December 21st 2012. Moreover, according to the Chinese book of Changes, 2012 signifies a year of great transformation.

CONCLUSION
Not all of the December 21st 2012 prophecies may be accurate. However, it is always good to be prepared for the worst. In a way, every prediction made does relate to each other. Lets wait and see what happens!!
