OVERVIEW

Director: Quentin Tarantino Writers: Quentin Tarantino Star Cast: Uma Thurman, David Carradine and Daryl Hannah

STORY
Framed by two proverbs "Revenge is a dish best served cold" and "Revenge is never a straight line", Kill Bill actually does walk quite a straight path, especially for a Tarantino film. Told in five labeled chapters, from "The Blood-Spattered Bride" to "Showdown at the House of Blue Leaves," elaborates the tale of a woman whose rural Mexican wedding ceremony is invaded by The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad and who returns from near-death four years later to individually track down those responsible.

Analysis of the Movie

However, all the set-ups, all the elements of cinematic form in Kill Bill are beautiful done and the camera angles were well experimented with. The visual aspect of the movie was rather strong. They made good usage of black and white editing and Japanese anime to make the narration easily understood, the narrator of course being Uma Thurman herself. Some of the fight scenes were very interesting to watch due to some new creativity used and because there was a sense of suspense as to what would happen next. Not to forget the soundtracks used in the movie was brilliant and added on to the energy level of the actors. The actors were well chosen for their respective roles, somehow their personalities were actually very impressive and fun to watch.

Our Review
Somehow it seems quite highly unusual how a woman could survive a bullet shot in her head after being kicked and thrashed around in her last trimester of pregnancy. Its also very unrealistic how few of the crazy 88 fly from the ground floor to the first floor of the teahouse in just one jump and also blood gushing out from the bodies like a geyser. In of the scene before Vernita Green fires at Uma Thurman, these two ladies argued like high school girls and you couldnt tell that they used to be a part of an assassination squad one upon a time if you watched that scene and hadnt known what movie it was from. Also Uma Thurmans costume in the movie did not suit her role as her suit looked more like a tracksuit rather than a bike suit or maybe thats how it was intended to be. In my opinion the same suit in red color would have done better as red is the color of violence and the movie was almost full of it. It was also hard to connect to the brides emotions because there was too much of killing in the entire movie except for a couple of scenes here and there, one would spend so much time concentrating on the techniques of the fights all through out the movie that they would forget to feel the characters due to lack of emotional value in the movie.

Scenes
There was humor and a sense of warmth when Uma met with Hattori Hanzo in his plain looking ordinary bar in chapter four because you could tell that although Uma was all out on her revenge she did not forget to respect and make friends. The action scene between Uma and school girl Gogo was one of the best scenes due to the creativity used in their surrounding environment and the use of the guillotine as a weapon by Gogo was something out of the ordinary and it was fun to watch the way it was used in the fight scene.

SETTINGS
The setting of the snow-covered backyard was very beautifully done and looked like the most peaceful place on earth. It was ironic how the place was used for the last and most awaited fight scene in the movie in which Uma Thurman killed Lucy Liu.

Blood spurting stumps are a prevalent image system in "Kill Bill," and their introduction into the movie by way of a gory Japanese Anime cartoon sequence sets a cheerful tone for the torrents of blood that rain down in the latter half of the film.
