HYDRO POWER PROJECTS

The MNRE is implementing a number of Renewable Energy Projects in Ladakh 22 Small/Mini Hydro Projects (MHPs) has been identified/ sanctioned for the Development of Hydro-Electric Projects LREDA has identified/selected 22 MHP sites in Leh district according to the Potential sites at remote/Hilly area. Total capacity to be Installed is around 12.85 MW, which will result in saving of 200 Lacs litres of diesel per year LREDA-LAHDC is the nodal agency of MNRE for the implementation of MHP projects with generation capacity up to 2 MW The target for the completion of these MHP is three working seasons (commissioning by the end of 2012-13)

Siachen MHP Cluster was allotted to M/S Prem Sagar, Chandigarh 2. Shayok MHP Cluster and Durbuk Cluster was allotted to M/S Mehdaj Techno Concept Pvt. Ltd, Delhi

Project Work in Three Parts

For Execution of project works, the Mini-Hydel Projects (MHP) are being tendered in three parts (Only 6 MHPs) are as:

1. Construction of Civil Complex Work (Head Works, Approach

Channel, Desilting Basin, Power House and Tail Race.

2. Penstock Works (Including its Civil work related with Penstock) 3. Electro -Mechanical Work (Inclusive of all Mechanical and Electrical work
involved in it)

Execution of remaining project works are being tendered on turnkey basis (Including Civil, Penstock and E&M works)
