Why Pressure
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Easy system when learned. Most QBs do not like people in their space. Good vs. all offensive sets. Very versatile and multiple. Great call for neutral situations Puts players in an attack mind set. It is a tempo changer when needed. Zone pressure: Everyone sees ball .

Pressure Musts:
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Stay within your system. Do not change to fit pressures. Find ways to send best blitzer. Must have plan for Draws, Screens, Options. Know QBs strengths. Run from UP/ Time snap count. Outnumber at point of attack

Yellow Jacket Zone Blitz Concepts

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Call system: Front:Tag:Blitz:Coverage. Always a 2 high shell. Always a 3 technique to the bench (boundary) In 4 man front: Blitz dictated by field/boundary. Once defenders match it becomes man. Field dictation allows for adjustments to be locked in. 7. Field= N,E,M,S and S/S always to the Field. 8. All Blitzes can be run out of Okie Front.

Zone Blitz vs Multiple Sets

A. Ability to overload a side for pass or run. B. Easily adjusted to get the most out of pressure. Can change who enters each gap easily. C. Field defense so alignments / adjustments are locked In. 1. Note: whichever zone blitz you choose to run, should have a base defense out of. 2. Be careful of having too many zone blitzes Must have a reason for running the blitz. * Not what you know its what your players can execute

Coverage rules: Fire Zones 3 Under / 3 Deep

Seam Players: *Collision and carry #2 vertical. *Match any rec. who crosses from inside. *Run with all flat/wheel routes. Middle Hook: * Key and match #3. Build from inside out * Drop vertical routes and look for crosser Corners * Key QB/Quick Game: Vision and break * Let shallow cross go, find new #1. *Always deliver crosser to next color Level of receiver will determine whether he can he passed.

Practice Philosophy
Coach the finish in every drill. Keep line short to ensure reps. Coach on the run. Take advantage of video tape. Solve problems in the office. Be constructive in criticism. Make pre-practice important. Spend time with players in locker room after practice. Vary drills. Break at different times. Treat managers respectfully. Develop pride in your segment but coach TEAM. No foul language.
