OBJECTIVE

ECOPS is an online reporting service. To reduce non-transparent & dishonest nature of police work. The focus of ECOPS is to computerize the activities of controlling crime. The aim of this project is to develop E-cops reporting & management system. Make it easily accessible to the public & police department. Victim can register FIR from anywhere. Track the status of their FIR. Provides transparency.

PROBLEM IN THE EXISTING SYSTEM

Fear of police in common people. Non-transparent and dishonest work of police department. Traditional file system which makes handling difficult. Victim has to run to the police station from start to the end. Sharing of data between different police station.

SOLUTION OF THESE PROBLEMS

An online solution which is inherently distributive. Provides transparency through online tracking of complaints. The online solution helps in getting the different police stations to share information. This solution also help to get in contact with one police station to another. Information about the criminals and the police is also made available to the people in this system.

SCOPE
It will provide online crime reporting for citizen. The respective police officers will received the crime report. And he will start investigation immediately. It also provides discussion group, chatting communication among police officers . Police officer uploads crime news, different rules and regulation to make citizen aware of it. It will be able to provide users, information about the laws, criminal activities , missing persons etc.

FUNCTIONAL ITY
User

User can send the complaints to police station and they can view the complaint report. The user can check the status of their complaints with the help of complaint id given. User can view the other information such as missing person ,unknown deadbodies. User can see the criminal records. User can get the information about the law ,rule and regulations. User can give the feedback to the police station.

DGP

DGP can view the complaints which are sent by the public.
The DGP has to login with their account in order to perform his actions. They can send alert messages to the police officer regarding any future complications. Unlike police who can view complaints specific to his area the DGP can view the complaints universally.

Police Department

Complaints given by the public, police can view them and take appropriate action timely. The police has to login with their account to view the complaints and to send the status of the complaints to the users. They can update the status of the complaint on the basis of progress of investigation. They will also receive alerts from the higher authorities regarding warnings and can take action in advance.
