Protocols for Acne

What is acne?
Acne is a disease of the sebaceous glands

Most commonly seen on the face, some on the back


and chest

Blackheads or open comedones these are the open


pore acne with black material on top with whitish sebum when extracted

Whiteheads or closed comedones these are the


closed pimples without an opening, need to prick this in order to create an opening, however, full extraction is needed to prevent inflammation.

Pustules these are pimples with inflammed red base


and a pointing of pus, extraction and injection of steroids is needed to immediately improve symptoms

Nodules these are red, tender, inflammed acne


nodules without pus and without opening. Best treatment is acne injection

Causes of Acne
