Components of Excel
Component Name Office Button Quick Access Toolbar Title Bar Ribbon Column Headings Row Headings Workbook Window Description A drop down menu contains a number of options, such as open, save, print, and etc A collection of buttons that provide one-click access to commonly used commands, such as Save, Undo, and repeat A bar that displays the name of the active workbook and the Excel program name Strip of buttons and icons located above work area The letters that appear along the top of the worksheet window to identify the different columns in the worksheet The numbers that appear along the left of the worksheet window to identify the different rows in the worksheet A window that displays an Excel workbook

Component Name Vertical Scroll Bar Horizontal Scroll Bar Zoom controls View shortcuts Description A scroll bar used to scroll vertically through the workbook window A scroll bar used to scroll horizontally through the workbook window Controls for magnifying and shrinking the content displayed in the active workbook window Buttons used to change how the worksheet content is displayed Normal, Page Layout, or Page Break Preview View Contains worksheet. By default there are 3 worksheets in an Excel file Buttons to scroll the list of sheet tabs in the workbook

Component Name Select All Button Active Cell Name Box Formula Bar Description A button used to select all of the cells in the active worksheet The cell with black outline. Data is always entered into this cell. Displays the cell reference or the name of the active cell. Displays the content of the active cell. Can also be used to enter or edit data and formulas.

Tabs
Tabs are designed to be task-oriented. Standard set of 8 tabs on the Ribbon contains two other kinds of tabs, which appear in the interface only when they are useful for the type of task being performed by user.
Example: When user insert a chart, the chart tools tab appears.
