CRT Monitors

A glass cathode-ray tube (1), which contains a vacuum, has three electron guns (2) at its narrow end, each containing an anode and cathode assembly. the cathodes emit electrons; the anodes draw the electrons away from the cathodes, focusing and accelerating them into electron beams (3). The deflection yoke (4), around the tube base, precisely manipulates the three beams via electromagnetic force, working with the CRT's circuitry to sweep them across the screen in precise, horizontal lines. Where a beam hits the screen, it causes a red, green, or blue (RGB) phosphor dot (5) to glow; the screen's inner surface is coated with these colored phosphors.

RESOLUTION

Resolution refers to the number of individual dots of color, known as pixels, contained on a display. Resolution is expressed by identifying the number of pixels on the horizontal axis (rows) and the number on the vertical axis (columns), such as 800x600. Resolution is affected by a number of factors, including the size of the screen.

LCD Monitor

Liquid crystal display technology works by blocking light. Specifically, an LCD is made of two pieces of polarized glass (also called substrate) that contain a liquid crystal material between them. A backlight creates light that passes through the first substrate. At the same time, electrical currents cause the liquid crystal molecules to align to allow varying levels of light to pass through to the second substrate and create the colours and images that you see.

LCD Vs LED
What is LED?
LED monitors are in actuality, a type of LCD monitors, or an improvement over them this is because LED and LCD monitors are based on the same basic technology for image display, but differ in the kind of backlighting used. While LCD monitors use cold cathode fluorescent lamps for backlighting, LED monitors use light emitting diodes. This is the prime difference between the two display technologies.

Power Consumption
LED monitors require a lot less power to operate than cold cathode fluorescent lamps,
