Topic
Speed Control of Three Phase Induction Motor using
PROJECT OVERVIEW
SCADA
system for controlling the speed an Alternating Current (AC) electric motor.
By
controlling the frequency of the electric power supplied to the electric motor.
It
provides the starting torque control, gradually ramps the motor up to the operating speed to lessen mechanical and electrical stresses, thereby reducing maintenance and repair costs resulting in the increase of instrument life.
Rectifier Section
Intermediate Circuit
Acts as a power storage facility for the next section, the INVERTER section.
Inverter Section
Takes the voltage from the DC bus and using PWM sends a signal which appears to motor as AC.
Brake Circuit
Used as Dynamic Braking with devices that need to stop or change direction quickly.
The waveform that goes to the motor shows the switching frequency of IGBTs. This switching pattern is known as Pulse Width Modulation.
Coordinates and regulates signals inside the drive. Monitors AC motor Current.

The user enters the program, usually via a software, that gives the desired results. Saves money and time, so almost any application that needs some type of electrical control has a need of PLC.
PLC operation
SCADA overview
Enables user to collect data and send control information to the central server. Employs telemetry. both data acquisition and
consists of collecting Information, transferring it to the central site, carrying out necessary control & analysis, and then displaying the data on a number of operator screens.
